European Commission

The European Commission has launched a study on the review of energy labelling of tyres, in order to ensure its effectiveness on increasing safety, and the economic and environmental efficiency of road transport in the European Union. The study will review and build upon Commission Regulation (EU) 1222/2009 and previous studies including, amongst others, earlier Impact Assessments.

The study is carried out by Viegand Maagøe A/S for the European Commission, DG Energy. Contract manager is Van Holsteijn en Kemna BV. The study started in May 2015 and is expected to be finished in March 2016.
